Steven, the owner of J.S. Fearnley, wanted to take the brand in a new direction, with photos that created a mood for his pieces, enticing customers to purchase because of how the jewelry made them feel. Melissa was able to bring that vision to life through stunning photos in stylized shoots.

In an effort to reach more potential customers, J.S. Fearnley hired Emily of The MLE Agency to develop an end to end digital marketing plan and Melissa of Worthwhile Media to provide the images used to execute that plan.

Now with beautiful photography to accompany it, their marketing was reaching more people and boosting sales.

J.S. Fearnley has been in the jewelry business for over thirty years with a solid reputation in Atlanta and internationally through shows and events. But the industry has changed. Today’s customer begins their shopping online, often on social media—specifically Instagram and Facebook. They had both, but weren’t very active, causing them to miss out on the online engagement that can lead to sales.

How to Create High-Quality, Compelling Images

THE PROBLEM

Prior to working with Melissa and Worthwhile Media, the photos of the jewelry were taken in the J.S. Fearnley showroom by a member of the office staff. In describing the photography at that time, Steven Fearnley says “The images were much more clinical... The photos were accurate and not too time-consuming. However, they lacked appeal and style.” With a desire to increase his online presence, gain more social followers and increase sales from the website, Steven knew he needed better photography - Photography that not only showed an accurate depiction of the piece, but photos that would make his customers want to buy them.

Artistic Imagery to Drive Reach and Sales

Melissa listened as Emily and Steven described the need for a theme among the photos that would feel luxurious and timeless. They suggested an earthy, natural feel as one of the options.  Melissa was then able to source the props and style the photography to create the look they wanted.

Top-Notch Service and Excellence Combined

The photography was taken on location at the J.S. Fearnley storefront by utilizing Worthwhile Media's mobile photography studio. During social distancing measures put in place in early 2020, the work was able to continue in safety at Melissa's studio, before returning to the storefront when restrictions were lifted. In describing the process, Steven Fearnley says, "I took it seriously and had to provide certain things for all this to be effective, but the added time and effort has been worth it."

As part of the standard of service Worthwhile Media provides, Melissa created shot lists and planned the props and styling before every shoot, then delivered the images within one week after each session.
